Dear Tommy,
On this Memorial Day like those of late, I honor you and your 342 brave Firefighter Brothers in uniform who sacrificed your own lives so that others may go on to live. We must NEVER forget that you, Tommy, and all of those brave men were the first casualties of this long war we never wanted. And with an enemy far more sinister & evil than any we have ever encountered.
Heaven and Earth celebrate you as a TRUE HERO that we will always honor. Your memory and life story will be told for generations to come. God knows the pleasure, love, and joy you gave to so very many while mortal. He now rewards you with Everlasting Life and true immortality! There is NO death in the Name of Jesus Christ, the Living God!
I must thank you from the very depth of my soul for being my continuing inspiration and personal trainer. Everyday that I "sling the iron" around, I feel you there, spotting and guiding me to my goals. Thank you!.....to you and to the Lord who allows your Spirit with to be with me. Even in mortal death, you still continue to come to all of your family and friend's aide.
God Bless the Foley Family on this Memorial Day. I would not let this day pass without showing my respect and gratitude for Tommy's support and guidance. Your son Tommy is Exemplar of what it means to be a real man and HERO.

I did not know Tommy well. I was a younger kid than Tommy that grew up in West Nyack, a street away from Tommy. Tommy was thought of by my friends and I as the ‘older cool guy’ on the block. I, as well as many others, remember that devastating day 9/11/01. I, like many others was shocked and saddened to hear about Tommy. I felt I needed to search his name today (not sure why) and found this sight. God Bless Tommy. I want to thank the brave men and women of the FDNY/NYPD and all our courageous military personnel that serve our great nation.

The gates of heaven opened wide
The angels lined up side by side
Heavens winds they softly blew
Echoed that god wanted you
When you awoke you did not no
That he had said you had to go
To leave this life for helping others
Strangers, friends beloved brothers
He wanted you his special guest
To prove he only takes the best
R.I.P Tommy foley and all your brothers who died along side you. Heros till the end you will never be forgotten

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY MR. TOMMY!!!
Tommy, I know you folks up there in Heaven laugh at us silly mortals celebrating your earthly birthday, but you gotta remember we celebrate you because you are a Great Hero! I know on earth you'd be 44 on last Friday, January 18th......but in Heaven you will forever be 32 (lucky you!!).
I want to thank you from the very depths of my soul for you guidance and inspiration. You spiritual visits, advice, and messages from the Spiritual Realm mean more to me than anyone will ever know. I take what you have given me all throughout my entire life. Tommy, you will continue to be a Blessing from God to everyone until the day we die and get to be with all of you up there eternally.
Thanks for keeping after my lazy butt to get back to the weights again. You have helped me in the gym tremendously these past few months. I really do feel your presence there everyday. You will always be my Personal Trainer and Official Spotter. You are the Very Best!
I am forever in your debt. God has Blessed me with a Guardian Angel Friend like you!

true hero read articles and watched interviews on how he rised up the ranks so quickly because of his bravey and fearlessness. listened to firfighters radios transmissions 911 opearters putting trapped victims thro to them so they could reassure they were coming for them new york firefighters are of a diffrent level altogether the waay they face fires. and his dad and brother bringing him home and how every year their house on 9/11 is open for friends and family to laugh and cry together and they end up at tommys grave toasting him i felt like crying god bless the foley family.

Like many of you, last week on British TV I watched and was deeply moved by "The Firefighter's Story".
I was particularly touched by Tommy Foley's story and the words of his siblings, Danny and Joanne. It underlined again for me the utter callousness of those zealots who could, without compassion or concern, fly planes into buildings, destroying thousands of lives in one foul sroke.
Tommy stands greater than the cowards who robbed him of his life ever will.
The only comfort, it seems to me is when you look at this handsome, vibrant, young man, you must remember the words of our great English poet, Lawrence Binyon: "They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old; age shall not weary them nor the years condemn; at the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them."
Rest in peace young man.

Tommy and I were classmates and friends at Clarkstown South. Several years after graduation we ran into each other at a grocery store in the Bronx, it turned out the fire station was just around the corner from my office. We chatted as if we had just run into each other in the hallways between classes. My thoughts and prays are with his family as well as all of those that had the privilege of knowing Tommy.

My very heartfelt prayers and thoughts are with the Foley Family on this eleventh anniversary of that fateful, infamous day; When Tommy, along with his 342 Firefighter Brothers, made the honorable Supreme Sacrifice and became Soldiers of Christ.
I know that no one will ever forget that horrific day and what America lost. We lost great men and women who were respected heroes even before they perished. Tommy and these brave souls will NEVER be forgotten. Their selfless acts of bravery in the face of death must be told for generations to come.
Tommy is the pure essence of what it means to be an AMERICAN. I know that Tommy's Spirit is still a driving force who goes on to defend God's Will around the world.
May we all learn from this man's life and his many successful accomplishments.
God's Blessings to All

Tommy was a Clarkstown South classmate and friend. At our 10th reunion we had a long conversation during which he told me, with much excitement and animation, that he had his "dream job" of being a firefighter in the Bronx. Tommy told me he was proud of me for becoming a doctor, because he knew I wanted to go to medical school since junior high. I lovingly teased him about being in People's Top 50 Bachelors and the NY Firefighter calendar. We hugged and were both so happy to see each other. That's the last time I spoke to Tommy, and I miss him...

Thinking of the Foley Family on Memorial Day......
In many ways, as I reflect back upon those dark days of mid-Semptember of 2001, we must also include the first Heroes of the inception of this War on Terror. It began on our own Beloved Country's soil of America.
Tommy, along with with many other first responders on the Atlantic Coast, died bravely in the capricious first battle. These Brave Souls saved countless civilians while sacrificing their own lives in the name of American Freedom.
I didn't want this Memorial Day to go by without including Tommy and his 342 Firefighter Brothers who should also be Honored for their own contribution in saving America & defending Her Freedoms. They themselves are also brave soldiers - the very first to give their lives in this war - that deserve our rememberance and respect today.
God Bless You Tommy Foley, Thank You for saving countless lives that fateful day with your brothers. I know quite well that in Angelic Spirit today, you are arm-in-arm together with all the Spirit veterans of wars past and present. Warriors in God's Great Battalion against forces of evil, you still defend what is righteous in God's Name.
GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
WE ARE ONE NATION INDIVISIBLE UNDER GOD!

Does not matter how much time goes by, what those brave 343 men did that day will never be forgotten. One thing people do not realize is that they do those brave acts of courage every day, but given the tragic events that took place day shed a light on what they do every single day. Takes a certain person with ice in his veins to the job but also has compassion and love in their hearts when it comes to family and friends.
We can all take a page from Tommy's life and how we can live life, LIVE IT!
Thank you Tommy and the other 342 for bringing light to so many on a dark day.

This is a very belated "Happy Birthday" to Mr. Tommy on January 18th. I attempted to leave a guestbook entry on your birthday, Tommy, but it was closed still.
Tommy, I know you Angels up there in Heaven laugh at us mortals down here celebrating your Earthly birth. I have learned that the real celebration begins when you are safely back Home to Christ's Loving Arms once more. But down here to us all, you are a big Hero. You will always be a celebration for your sacrifice you made to save lives.
I made a promise to you that I will always have your Memorial Foundation closest to my heart to help the kids to go to college. You have shown me times before your love of children and I will always remember.
God Blessed the Earth the day you came into it and He still Blesses us by allowing you to continue to protect us as a Guardian Angel.
I am here for you at your service always,

Mammy and daddy(Peter and Kathleen) are still talking about their trip to the U.S.A last year. They were guided around ground zero by Pat and found it so moving and emotional. It was Tom's first time back to that site since his beloved son,Tommy, gave his life to try to save others.
Joanne, congratulations on a wonderful tribute to your brother and for sharing his life with others. My favorite quote was the way he said "giddy-up" and had that twinkle in his eye !! I think that has stuck in my mind and has just joined my vocalbury list!! I will use it many times and think of Tommy each time...
